The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) unveiled the Oscar nominations for 2017 in all 24 categories on Tuesday. The Shape of Water is the nomination leader with a whopping 13 noms, followed by Dunkirk at eight. Both films were nominated for Best Picture alongside Call Me by Your Name, Darkest Hour, Get Out, Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Post and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Notable surprises and snubs include the over-performance of Darkest Hour and especially Phantom Thread, Holly Hunter missing for The Big Sick and James Franco missing for The Disaster Artist.
The Oscars will air live Sunday, March 3 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on ABC, with host Jimmy Kimmel.
