The Detroit Film Critics Society announced their winners for the best in film of 2018 on Monday. The big winner with the Michigan-based group was Eighth Grade, which won Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Josh Hamilton and the Breakthrough award for writer-director Bo Burnham. Vice was another big winner, taking the prizes for Best Director (Adam McKay), Best Screenplay and Best Ensemble, despite not even being nominated for Best Picture.
