The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild announced its 2017 nominations on Friday, honoring outstanding achievement in film, TV, commercials and theater. The official award ceremony is Saturday, February 24, 2018 at The Novo by Microsoft at L.A. Live.
Of the seven films that made the shortlist for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the Oscars, six were nominated here. Darkest Hour and Wonder earned three nominations each, suggesting they are the frontrunners at the Oscars, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and I, Tonya earned two. Bright and Ghost in the Shell notched one nomination apiece, while Victoria and Abdul did not earn a single mention.
