New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2019: 'The Irishman,' Banderas, Nyong'o and More

The New York Film Critics Circle announced their winners for 2019 on Twitter on Wednesday, with The Irishman the big winner, taking the awards for Best Film and Best Supporting Actor for Joe Pesci. Other acting winners included Antonio Banderas for Pain and Glory, Lupita Nyong’o for Us and Laura Dern for both Marriage Story and Little Women.

Note that the winner of Best Film has not necessarily lined up with Best Picture at the Oscars much lately, with past NYFCC winners including 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty, 2013’s American Hustle, 2014’s Boyhood, 2015’s Carol, 2016’s La La Land, 2017’s Lady Bird and 2018’s Roma.
