The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has released the list of the 87 countries submitting a film to the upcoming 91st Academy Awards. Each country selects one film to go before Oscar voters in the hope of getting one of the five nominee slots in Best Foreign Language Film.
Notable films selected include Roma from Mexico, Cold War from Poland, Birds of Passage from Columbia, The Guilty from Denmark, Shoplifters from Japan, Capernaum from Lebanon and I Am Not a Witch from the United Kingdom.
